Charles W. Daff has practiced bankruptcy law in Orange County, California since 1977 — the year he earned his J.D. from Western State College of Law. In nearly five decades of practice, he has never divided his focus: his entire career has been devoted to helping individuals and small businesses navigate the bankruptcy process with clarity, dignity, and the best possible outcome.

In February 1995, he earned the California State Bar's Certified Specialist designation in Personal and Small Business Bankruptcy Law. To earn this designation, an attorney must pass a written specialty examination, demonstrate years of substantial bankruptcy practice, complete ongoing continuing legal education in the specialty area, and receive favorable evaluations from judges and fellow attorneys. Charles has maintained this certification continuously for more than three decades and served on the State Bar's Advisory Commission for the Bankruptcy Specialist program from 1999 to 2002 and again from 2007 to 2010.

In September 1987, the United States Department of Justice appointed Charles to the Chapter 7 Panel Trustee position in the Central District of California — one of only approximately 35 such Panel Trustees in the entire district. This federal appointment, which Charles has held for over 36 years, is a reflection of his professional standing, his expertise in bankruptcy administration, and the trust placed in him by the federal court system. Panel Trustees serve the court and administer bankruptcy estates independently and impartially; their duties are entirely separate from the representation of private clients.

He has lived in Orange County since 1970. He attended college and law school here. His office has served this community for nearly five decades. His clients are his neighbors, and their ability to move forward after financial hardship is what motivates him every day.
